A Fidget Bag helps your child refocus and regulate their sensory system during those times when it is difficult for them to focus or attend, such as sitting quietly within the classroom, driving in a car, or sitting in the shopping cart.
The Fidget bag is a small bag, that can be sealed, filled with small manipulative toys or gadgets. Manipulative should have no, or be very low in, visual and auditory stimulation (or at least appeal). These tactile sensory toys should have interesting touch components, such as stress and sensory balls, koosh balls, small slinkys, tangle toys, little cars, elastic bands, flour-filled balloons, straws, rubber bugs or animals etc.
The rule with a Fidget Bag is “one at a time”. The child opens the bag, removes one fidget toy and closes the bag. At any time, the child can change or exchange the fidget toy, but can only play with one manipulative at a time.
